Bookmarking websites

Reflect lets you quickly bookmark websites and capture snippets from across the web using our Chrome extension and Safari extension.

For capturing on the go we have also integrated with iOS’s share menu.

Capturing with Chrome

First, if you haven’t already, install our extension. If you use Safari, see how to install and capture in the next section.

  1. Browse to a website
  2. Press cmd shift p to open Reflect’s link capture menu. And then return to save the link.
  3. Select the text you want to capture and add a description if you’d like.
  4. The link and your highlights will automatically be added to your daily note.

You can also activate the Reflect menu by clicking the purple icon, or right clicking on the page.

πŸ’‘Β If you want the menu bar and highlights to disappear, click on the trashcan icon. Note that this won’t delete the saved link in Reflect. You’ll need to do that from within the app.

Capturing with Safari

First, install the Reflect extension for Safari and follow the prompts to turn it on in your Safari extension preferences.

  1. Browse a website
  2. Select some text you want to capture
  3. Press cmd shift p to open Reflect’s link capture menu. And then return to save the link.
  4. The link will automatically be added to your daily note

You can also activate the Reflect extension by clicking the nodes icon to the left of the web address bar, or right clicking on the page.

Troubleshooting

If the keyboard shortcut cmd shift p is not working for you it’s possible another extension is overriding it. To customize this open: chrome://extensions/shortcuts

Capturing on mobile

If you have our iOS app installed then we’ll add a Reflect icon to iOS’s share menu. Just tap that to save the website to Reflect. Any text highlighted will also be saved.

Where do links go?

Incoming links will go under a Links bullet inside your daily notes. We backlink this to a dedicated note for that webpage which will contain any text you've captured.
